Privacy, plainly stated.

Last updated October 6, 2026. This notice covers the Military RV Travel website (militaryrvtravel.com).

What we collect

• Your account: email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), and the name and phone number you choose to add. Your preferences, such as theme and map layers.
• Your trips and rigs: rig dimensions and fuel details, trips with their start, end, stops, dates, routes, reservation notes, checklists and visitor-link settings, and an edit history used to recover trips.
• What you share on sites: reviews, photos, private notes and suggested corrections.
• Membership: your membership rate, any rate you apply for and what you tell us about how you qualify, and from PayPal: the subscription reference, its status, plan, dates and payment amounts.
• Eligibility documents (only if you upload them): files you send to support a veteran or other rate, such as a DD-214 or VA benefit summary letter. They are encrypted before they are stored, only the site owner can open them, and they are deleted as soon as your request is approved, declined or withdrawn, or your account is closed. Please cover Social Security and other ID numbers before uploading.
• Connected computers: existing device connections and anonymous installation identifiers used for directory and weather requests. You can revoke account connections from My account.
• Travel assistant (only if you turn it on): your conversations.
• Beta testing: private reports, replies, status, and any page path or device information you choose to send. For the testing agreement, we record your account, entered name, acceptance time, version, exact text and text fingerprint. Reports are visible only to the reporting account and the site owner.
• Email updates (only if you subscribe): your email address and when you confirmed or unsubscribed.
• Logs: our host keeps normal request logs, such as IP addresses, pages requested and times, for operation and security.

Payments

Payments are handled by PayPal. You pay with your PayPal account or a debit or credit card on PayPal's own pages or buttons. We never see or store your card or bank details. PayPal's privacy statement covers what PayPal collects.

Who else receives information

• HERE Technologies provides the maps, RV routing and place search: the locations and rig dimensions you plan with are sent to HERE, and your browser loads map data from HERE.
• Weather: map locations are sent to our weather providers (HERE and OpenWeather), and radar images load from RainViewer.
• Travel assistant: when you turn it on, your messages and the trip and rig details you choose are sent to our hosted AI provider (DeepSeek), and public research questions may be sent to Tavily. The website manages the provider credentials; users do not supply their own keys.
• Email: account and membership emails are delivered by our email provider.
• Bot protection: signup forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person is submitting them.
• Hosting: the site and its database run on our hosting provider's servers.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics. Visitor links show a trip to anyone who has the link; you choose what they include and can turn them off at any time.

Cookies and storage

We use a sign-in cookie and a form-protection cookie, which are needed for the site to work. Your theme and some map choices are remembered in your browser. PayPal's buttons set PayPal's own cookies when you use them.

Your choices

• Download everything your account holds, or close your account, under My account → Personal data. Closing an account cancels any PayPal membership first.
• Turn the travel assistant on or off in My account.
• Unsubscribe from email updates with the link in any update.
• Cancel your membership under My account → Membership.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. When you close it, your trips leave every list, visitor links stop working and public reviews and photos are hidden, but the data is kept so the account can be reopened; ask us if you want it erased. Membership and payment records are kept as long as we need them for accounting and legal reasons. Beta reports, replies and agreement records are retained when access ends or an account is closed, for product support and evidence of acceptance; closing an account does not automatically erase them. You can export them from Personal data while signed in, and ask the site owner about erasure.

Children

The service is for adults. Do not create an account if you are under 18.

Changes and contact

If we change this notice in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell account holders by email.
